CHERRY GROVE FIRE DEPT TRADITION PROVIDES HOT TIMES IN THE GROVE
By Sherri Rase

Cherry Grove Fire Department's 14 th Annual Pancake Breakfast and Benefit was held Sunday August 5 at the Cherry Lane Café in Downtown Cherry Grove. Dominic was staffing the Donation area, Doreen supervised the outdoor open kitchen and stalwart moustachio'd servers JoyceY and Diane were joined by rotating assistants throughout the morning. Bobbie and Francine made sure everything kept moving and all were happy.

Sunday could not have been more beautiful for an outdoor fete as the high winds from the night before had washed the high humidity clean! Crisp and clear, cool breezes and the best pancakes of the year were had. All you can eat and the event benefits the Fire Department, you can't lose!

The brave men and women of the CGFD can use volunteers as well! Previous experience not necessary - and when you're hot, you're hot! (And they are SuperHot!)

note: The pancake breakfast is organized by the volunteer firefighters of Cherry Grove as their main fundraiser each year.  The money that they raise helps buy rain slickers, jackets, and accessories for their equipment needs not provided by our tax dollars.  Many members of the Fire Dept work on this fundraiser, held at Cherry's, including Michael Romanelli, Clyde Oakley, Dominic DeSantis, Steve Williams, Luis Cruz, Steve Malsky, Michael Adbis, Benji Thompson, Joan Van Ness, Lorraine Michels, Bobbie & Doreen, Tim Webster, Paul Jablonski, Don Hester, Craig Hollywood, George Oakley, Arthur, John, and Jeanne Skinner
