41ST ANNUAL MISS FIRE ISLAND CONTEST 06

 The weather was perfect for the 41st Annual Miss Fire Island Contest at the Grove Hotel (Ice Palace) as contestants poured out of their rooms and mingled with the huge crowd assembled inside and around the pool. 

Upstairs, in Executive Producer Isaac Vaughan's inner sanctum, the judges, Scott Hirsch, owner of Ocean Beach's Island Mermaid restaurant, Linda Giardinello, Director of Education at the N.Y. Institute of Beauty, Grove's own Master Tom, Mr. Fire Island Leather 2006, Jeannie Lieberman, editor of Theaterscene.net, Publisher of Fire Island Sun.com,  Dong, Fashion consultant, Ray Cusumano, distributor of Nicole Miller Beauty Products, our own Charity, Miss Fire Island '68 and  "top judge" Dennis McConkey convened and received their instructions from Pageant Director Sal Piro.

Bella, Electra and Ariel MC-ed the event, Rich Parisi herded the contestants, Jeffrey Wallach made it all glam.

Ariel whispers some tips to the new Miss Fire Island

 Johnny Savoy's theme song of the contest "Miss Fire Island" was beautifully sung by Brandon Cutrell, and Ginger Moore, Miss Fire Island 2005 passed the crown to the winner, Epiphany, the always classy Demi Tasse won Ms. Fire Island and the spectacularly androgynous Victoria Michaels won Entertainer of the Year.
