DAWN’S 24 hour BD PARTY

Began Friday night when MM’s and Dawn’s great mom gathered at the OUT  and Dawn got the sparkler treatment with dessert. Then a champagne catered afternoon beach party, preceded by some raucous beech balloon games. Instructions in eating jello shots were demonstrated by Vic L: “squeeze and use your tongue” and carried over into early evening with post party beach bingo when Patti won an unusual prize.  A little later the party was followed by dinner with each guest preparing a complimentary dish to Lou Romanzi's raw sauce. Dawn made a beet salad with bacon and Blue Cheese, Cheryl made garlic bread, Cindy made chicken cutlets, Jennifer made a Cesar salad, Debbie brought appetizers and Jim Segrue brought the wine and of course Jeannie bought her garlic knots. Good job, Gary, who was overheard later “I feel exhausted” but Dawn looked none the worse for wear.

Are you ready for your close up?

I’m ready for mine……..

  The Chiro’s actually stopped working

I dunno – young girls love me ?!?

MORE girls – I must be a magnet - where are the men?

The grownups trying to regroup for picture

Need more champagne first

OK We’re ready!!!

  Now it’s getting sloppy

Another toast

  Time to open the gifts

  Let’s swim and sober up………

How much more can we drink???

KISMET KRONIKLE HAS A FINAL WRAP PARTY

Proud publisher Sam Wood threw an early wrap party at his Sam Wood, Inc. World Headquarters  for this season’ s Kismet Kronikle. It was indeed a happy event as writers and advertisers of “The Kron” gathered together (the girls will be leaving before end of week to go back to college)

-Casey’s mom Cheryl reminded me that not so long ago I called them  “the ditzy duo” and they have disproved that name summer after summer…

publishing what I consider the best paper for which I ever written (including the New York Law Journal) and the only one I read cover to cover.

Proud Moms

Another proud dad

Sam interrupted the conviviality to share its inception: when the town was irate at the column published in the Tide by the person who replaced me he decided that “this is stupid we should have our own paper” –tried the idea out on the “drunks at the bar” and it flew – he promised them “we will have a paper by next Friday” ..and  we did! It was a matter of minutes that the idea “grew legs” and not much longer a staff was assembled. After many requests I was about to print out and distribute my FireIslandSun Kismet Kolumn so this was a perfect solution.

Staff line up

Everyone who was asked to contribute felt flattered and a staff was assembled and has been continually growing – Ofc. Krupke, C.Kent, L.Lane, Chiros, the Tick, Russell, book reviews, - it just kept getting better..

Even Tom L’s columns got better.

What is Rusty thinking (there goes Tom mouthing off again/)

Sam presented the girls with their official Press Photos

To the delight of the crowd

.. even the Tick. (Tick’s picture deleted to protect identity)

Let me just say after all this time I found out who the “tick” is and I couldn’t be happier, even forgive him (not really).

Amy and the Phelans contributed to the merriment

and the gorgeous Mallory (and her “twin” Karly) served

Attending were advertisers Paul B (Out), Altieri, the Romanzies, the Lambies, and Sam’s terrific secretary Michelle and Vic Liotta whose presence was legitimized by “Hey, I read it”.

Proud contributors

Andy and Dom share a moment

Girl talk
