Kismet K0medy Night 07

Mike Dillon: the man who makes it happen

"I was so lucky to be able to get all these talented people on the same show....Chris and Rob were late add-ons....and what a job both of them did!....Unfortunately for me, it knocked me off of the show.....but I knew having both of them would really make the show a total success...and besides, you guys get to stare at my ugly puss again next year as a result.....it is so important when doing a "yearly" to bring different comics to the show.....the newness of an act you haven't seen before can never be duplicated or substituted.....and I am committed to making each and every one of my shows the best it possibly can. People probably don't realize the "need" and "high" comics get when performing, especially when working for such responsive audiences, as the one in Kismet always is.....It is not all about the money as they say....Most comics are true artists in the sense that they value the "art form" and a good audience more than even the payday.....I've already had one of the acts from Sat. ask to be back next year, even if it means a reduction in pay!......what other profession do you hear stuff like that!.....I can't thank  Joannie and Joe McKeon, Patti and Lou Romanzi enough for all they have done to make this fundraiser the success it has become.  People don't realize the work and stress that go into running an event like this.....the ovation they received when I thanked them on stage was just incredible!.....I just wish  they had been in the room when it exploded with applause.... of course they weren't because they were "still" working in another room...I wish I had more space to convey my thanks to so many others who made our stay such a pleasurable one......a quick thumbs up to Rudy, Chief Tom, Sam and the crew will have to do for now.....and of course I want to thank you Jeannie for always being there to help us with your critique and publicity of the event...see you all next year..as always ...best....Mike Dillon....GatewaytoComedy.com....fundraisers/private shows

Under the premise that a thing good once is worth doing twice Kismet again howled through a raucous evening of laughs - attendees, lined up early in their Sunday best to scramble for seats, were treated to a variety of material guaranteed to strike a funnybone in each. An extensive article will appear in the next issue of the Fire Island Tide.
