A HIGH TIME ON THE LOW SEAS FOR KISMET FIRE DEPARTMENT’S INSTALLATION DINNER CRUISE

photos by Jeannie

Kismet’s finest put on their finest as members and guests of the Kismet Fire Department embarked on their annual Dinner/Installation Cruise. As the colorful Lauren Kristy, piloted by Captain Mike. sailed into the Marina some were already on board including Palace’s Elliot & Deb and members of the Saltaire and Ocean Beach Fire Departments and the Marine Bureau. The food was from Bill D’s new Bayshore restaurant Cool Waters, flowers by Amy Wood and Krysia McBride. Sharon Sitone created the great favors: FD mugs filled with candy. There were 90 guests.

Sam MC’d the installation process in his inimitable droll style. Honors were given for 35 years of service to Larry Cole, Warren Lem, 30 years to Rusty P & Tommy Field, 10 years of service to Tom Licari. Former Commissioners Dudley and Jerry Field were guests of honor, as were Jay & Dawn Lippert from FINS. The same slate of officers was reinstated: Tom Sitone Sr as Chief, Artie Weinstein Secty, Joan McKeehan Treasurer, Joe Kelly, 1st Asst Chief, Michael Cole 3rd Captain, Ashley Cole, Cody and Tom Sitone, Jr. Truck Captains, FDNY’s Dominic was Training Officer. Commissioner Rollie Minella swore in Sam Wood, Jr.  Jennifer M and Gary L celebrated their common birthdays on board  (45 & 54 you can guess who’s what age.) Chris R also celebrated a birthday (the 14th)..

The weather got pretty rocky later but I doubt anyone noticed by that time.

Fire Chief Sitone and Artie G…waiting with the flowers

The Party started  early for some as they waited

And some more

Do we look very Floridian?

We are rarely seen together………..

That deserves a closer look.

Are we late?

They keep coming

Here we are again……….

Krysia, retired softball champ

Shootin’ the breeze while waiting for their ship to come in

Now Sam, this is what you should say

What are they hiding behind those dark glasses?

Isn’t this the red carpet?

Great to get away…………

FD newbies……….

Dominic can’t wait………

Catchin’ up

Gettin’ chilly…lets get on board

Dignitary!

Another dignitary.

Who are these people?

Make’m pay!

Are you on the list???

“You’re in good hands with Capt Mike” who had 25 years experience with the Fire Island ferries before getting his own boat. Patti R. obviously agreed

Hello, Sailors, welcome aboard……

Sirens of the Sea

Party Time!!!

Getting a little wild here………….

“Good, the folks are leaving us alone….” Bon Voyage!
