Kan Jam Beach Tournament

For the
4th year,
seventeen-year
old Brett
Whooley of All 4 You, organized the Kan Jam contest on the beach as part of the
fund-raising efforts for West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition.
Thirty-five
teams of two Kan Jammers each showed up at the beach and Pine at noon Monday,
August 4th. Their ages ranged from about six to sixteen
and each paid a $10 entry fee designated for the WIBCC. As they arrived”
Brett’s mother and siblings TJ and Megan helped register the teams. Play was to go on
for two hours or so with the first place team winning two $25 gift certificates
donated by Surf’s Out, the second place team two $20 gift certificates donated
by the Inn and, for the winner among the younger players, two $15 gift
certificates for pizza or ice cream donated by the Pizza Shack.
