Ice Palace hosts a dazzling “Night at the Oscars” as Arts Project’s Season’s End Ball

As a fitting conclusion to a summer of Hollywood themed productions, the Ice Palace hosted a dazzling “Night at the Oscars”

Hostesses Bella & President Coco Love

Bella likened the evening to a Fellini movie!

Me & Moses (Steve Menendez) – can I take him home? Uh Oh, he belongs to Bella

Don’t the twins Ruth & Susan Freedner (or is that Susan & Ruth) look great?

Why, it’s George Raft….stepped right out of the screen

Its Charlie Chaplin – also right off the screen – leave it to Dale to do it right

Laurel & Hardy (Dr. Rick Byrd & Bryan) flank Esther Williams (Dr. Patrick Fratellone)

Still stalking Moses for a photo op

Carl & His Chimp – see the resemblance?

A couple of RG’s – Joyce looks great

Snow-White & the Witch?

 Three redheads - DANGER

Each year she gets more and more into drag

Why isn’t that Baby Snooks? Oh it’s Baby Jane Hudson, sorry!

Have a crush on Marge…

But lost her/him to a him  - so confusing

Wow! Joan Crawford – at her scariest

Hardy picked a glam star, where’s Laurel???

China and “date” you go girl

!

Lucky Pierre – er, Arthur

The ever shy Ann Phetamine: You like me???

Here’s more to love..

More gorgeous gals, RG’s???

I am soooo glamourous!!!!

True Devotion

Oh, you want m autograph!

Laurel & Hardy (with Judy behind)

Wendy gets a well deserved community service award. “I’m farklempt.”

“There’s nowhere else I’d like to be in the world”

These gals really worked the red carpet

The nicest hard working couple in tinsel town

The Shapiro’s back to back

Or spooning????

Look who Charity picked up! Where’s Joan?

And who is the babe on Paul’s arm?

Margo asks: Do I look better this way,,,,,,,

…or this way? Any Way, Baby!

Can never get enough of Lola as Norma Shearer’s Marie Antoinette

The Debonaires

Spartacus? Is that you?

Louisa as Press, trying to be me

I taught him everything he knows!

A mystery madame?

Gary and his portable “casting couch” on which many a starlet auditioned

Ah, SallyAnn, such a charming escort “he” won the prize for Debonair

Don’t know who they are but they look very Hollywood

Cool Cats Elvis & Elton?

Could that be Daryl F Zanuck and his movie star wife?

Take this act on the road!!!

My BFF Robin Kradles

2 Charlie Chans & an unfortunate “friend”

Mix ‘n Match on the dance floor

APCG President Coco Love thanked Harold Seeley for recreating Hollywood, complete with chandelier, a box office, and traditional photo op scenes, DJ Chuck McT working his Hollywood themed magic, catering by SHK Catering Service with plenty for all and I hear great desserts with a chocolate fountain.

The ever disappointing water taxi service pulled the outrageous stunt of delivering me at 8:45PM and demanding that I leave at 10:30. Therefore I missed the entertainment and the costume contest. Reliable sources inform me that prize winners of $200 cash and an “Oscar” trophy apiece were, for most debonair, Lee Sharmat as Zorro; for best Hollywood portrayal, Dr. Patrick Frattelone as Esther Williams.

Sylvia and Shirley Shapiro and Ruth and Susan Freedner were judges.

Other contestants in the debonair category included Carl Luss as “Cheetah’s wrangler;” SallyAnn Piacentino; Charlton Heston; “Big Daddy,” a Colonel Sanders look alike; Sherri Rase as a French detective; Charles Young; and Marge Cozzolino. Robin Kradles; Jerena, as Grace Kelly’s baby sister; Bella as Sophia Loren; China; Amy Rosen; Jo Jo Gerard;; Joyce Rodgers; and Taffeta were among the others competing for most glamorous. Trying out for best Hollywood portrayal were Victor Alfieri, as “Toy Story I” and “II;” Jack Ruolo as Tom Cruise in “Risky Business;” Dr. Rick Byrd and Brian as Laurel and Hardy; Lois Pisano, Joann Tavis, Doreen Rallo and Bobbi Green as “The Wizard of Oz”’s Dorothy, the Tin Woodsman, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion; Harold as Mickey Mouse; Gary Greene as the casting couch; and Shannon as Marilyn Monroe.
