OBP: WOODSTOCK REVISITED/

EILEEN & CLEM’S 130th BIRTHDAY PARTY

                                               Photos by Robbie

It's August, and the parties are in full swing.  The OBP Auxiliary hosted their annual Fundraiser theme party, this year honoring the 40th anniversary of  "Woodstock".  The party took place in the OBP Firehouse, but no-one dared burn their bra!  They just burnt up the dance-floor with the DJ playing our favorites from the 60s, 70s and 80s.  Here are some former  flower children celebrating Peace, Love and Summer.

On Saturday August 1st, long time pals Eileen and Clem were surprised with a mutual "130th birthday" party.  An equal number of friends gathered to celebrate with them.

5k RUN FOR THE ROSE FIRE ISAND HOTEL

OCEAN BAY PARK

Photos by John Holley

On Sunday August 9th the Fire Island Hotel was the scene for the start of the 3rd annual FI5K "Run for Rose".  Organized by the DiGangi brothers to honor their mother, and to raise funds for the American Brain Tumor Assn., it is always a great event.  Over 300 participants ran or walked through the OBP and Seaview walks, cheered on by local residents.  There were world-class runners and first-time competitors, and our own Luke LaPenna (from Flynns) placed 5th.  Afterwards a Festival was held at the Hotel, featuring great music, raffles, food and drink.
