KISMET’S JULY 4TH PARADE-early in the morning on Sunday the sound of staple guns and hammers dotted the landscape and frantic parents prepared their floats and formerly happy tots had that deer-in-the-headlights look as a crowd of well wishing onlookers cheered them on and parents screamed “smile for the judges”. Paradoz Bob Phillips mom, 85 year old Helen, was a WAVE (WWII veteran) who participated in the parade. The visiting bands strutted their stuff and stuffed themselves later on dogs, clams, burgers and beer, the KFD hawked their shirts and paraphernalia, and general tri-colored chaos ensued.

The facts: -parade grew from 15 (08) to 22 floats this year

-Prizes:

. Jean Wood Memorial Grand Prize to Jellyfish Invasion (names later)

. Most Patriotic to All Girls Are Equal -- Anna, GiGi, Ying, Mae Mae and Fung Hua

. Most Topical to Halo 3 - Anthony, Joseph, Sam and Nicholas

. Most Historial to Go Navy, USS Independence - designed by Tyler Crawson - Tyler, Kevin, Caitrin & Casey

. Most Creative to Here Comes the Sun - Isobel
