Amelia Migliaccio Died Jan 9 09

I am sad to relay that Amelia Migliaccio passed away last night in the hospital. I had talked to her in the hospital a couple times in the past month and she sounded bad...but she had stayed so optimistic for so long with great plans for next summer.

I am so glad we did what we could for her last summer...she was very touched that we dedicated The Bouquet to her in our parade...and she said not a day went by she didn't think about the night dedicated to her in This is Your Life Amelia...

There was a viewing at TorraGrossa & Sons Funeral Home at 345 Avenue U in Brooklyn (near Amelia's home) on Monday and Tuesday 2 - 5 and 7 - 9 PM. Their phone is 718-449-1300.

The funeral was Wednesday at St. Columba on Kimball St. and Avenue  in Brooklyn at 9:45 AM.

The kitties (who were so precious to Amelia) are looking for a home...if you have room in your heart and home let me know and I will connect you to Amelia's brother.

We will plan a memorial service for her when we get back to the beach. I know she is in all our thoughts and prayers...she will be missed.

Her friend...Denise

Amelia was an incredible friend and I loved her so much, especially for all her opinions and quirks. You sure knew where you stood. I miss her so much. I am glad I got to tell her how much we all loved her recently.

Her friend...Denise

I met Amelia for the first time last summer.  She was so gracious to
open her home to APCG and John DeMarco when we were rehearsing USO.  I
remember sitting on her stairs waiting for my turn to sing.  Amelia sat
down next to me and asked if I was new to APCG and the Grove Since
that day I always enjoyed seeing Amelia.  I would frequently stop to
talk to her on my way home as I live on the same walk.

She was an enthusiastic and kind lady who appreciated anyone who took
an interest in making Cherry Grove a better place.  This is sad news
and I will think of her every time I turn onto Main Walk.

Indeed a loss for friends and the community, a very colorful figure who always greeted me with a smile
